Check-In/Check-Out
Our facility offers registration and discharge of
boarding guests 7 days per week.
Please inquire with a camp
counselor regarding specific hours of check-in and check-out
outside of normal operating hours or request that a card stating
these hours be mailed to you.
All guests are charged the day they arrive and each
additional day of their vacation. On the day of departure there
is no additional fee if campers are discharged by 11 a.m. or if
the guest has requested a service such as grooming on the day of
departure.
On Sundays, all campers are charged
½ their daily fee because checkout is only offered at a specific
time in the afternoon.
Vaccinations
Barking Lot, Inc. takes great pride in a clean
environment and the staff works diligently to assure that all
pets are monitored closely for changes in any habit and signs of
illness.
Any four-legged kid who exhibits
signs of illness are isolated from other campers and our
management and veterinarian protocol is followed.
Therefore, we require all campers
to have the following vaccinations: DHLPP, Bordetella, and
Rabies.
Vaccinations must be boostered and/or administered
14 days prior to arrival at Barking Lot, Inc.
In addition, if your pet has stayed
overnight at another facility, visited a dog park or any pet
business not requiring vaccinations within 10 days of his/her
stay with us, please inform our staff.
Fleas/ticks
A monthly topical flea/tick prevention program is
encouraged by our facility.
Please consult with your pet’s
veterinarian to inquire about a program suitable for him/her.
Guests will be briefly examined
upon arrival as Barking Lot, Inc.
When fleas are present, our staff
will speak with you about CAPSTAR. If your pet has fleas we
require that a flea bath be given at owner’s expense.
What to Bring
Guests may bring
anything that will make his or her vacation at Barking Lot, Inc.
more complete. We offer quality bedding, blankets, and cots, but
feel free to bring something from home and of course, the kid’s
favorite toy! Remember, a pillow case or shirt you’ve worn for
those first time campers!
Menu
Quality Eukanuba, Iams or Eagle Brand dry
food in several varieties is served at Barking Lot and is
included at no additional fee.
For the finicky eater you may
purchase no sodium, fresh cooked chicken and rice for $3 per
day. We also have an assortment of canned foods available to
serve our guests at an additional fee of $2 per day. If you
choose to bring food from home, we request that that food to be
packaged for your kid’s entire stay in zip lock bags and ready
to serve, per meal.
Please label each bag with the
kid’s name, name of food, and the amount of food.
Prepare two extra meals just in
case your return is delayed.
Quick Release Collar
Our emergency evacuation plan requires that each
guest have a quick release (not buckle) collar.
If you do not own one, you may
purchase one at Barking Lot.
Allowance
If you wish to have your
pet shop for a bone or special treat, let our front camp
counselors know how much you would like to leave.
Call Us
Please call us at any time to check on your
four-legged family member.
Each pet parent will be given a
card with Barking Lot’s contact information on it.
In addition, the cellular and/or
pager number of our owner/operator will be given to each pet
parent.
The staff counselors and management
of Barking Lot, Inc. collectively share their lives with over 55
dogs and cats so we know how much you love em!
Miscellaneous
Our facility is governed
by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and is licensed
to accommodate up to 44 guests.
There is a veterinarian,
not affiliated with nor located on the premises of Barking Lot,
Inc., who is available for questions and emergencies. In the
event of sickness or injury, Barking Lot, Inc. staff will first
attempt to contact your pet’s regular veterinarian.
All camp counselors and employees are required to
complete pet first-aid and CPR training through the American Red
Cross.
This instruction is offered
annually.
